A Playful Conversation
Meera: "Riya, why are you sitting under the clothesline? Come play hopscotch!"
Riya: "Shhh, I'm busy talking to the pigeons on the terrace wall."
Meera: "Talking to pigeons? They can’t understand you!"
Riya: "They tilt their heads and coo when I speak. It feels like we’re having a tiny chat."
Meera: "But you didn’t even move your lips just now."
Riya: "I talk with my eyes and my crumbs. See? I drop a bit of biscuit, they come closer."
Meera: "Hmm… they do look like they’re answering you with their ‘coo-coo’ sounds."
Amma: "Girls, lunch is ready! Who are you two whispering to out there?"
Riya: "Amma, we just conversed with pigeons. They cooed, we giggled, and it was a real conversation!"
Meera: "Yeah! We conversed with only crumbs and coos… now can we converse with hot dosas too?"
