Queue for Pani Puri
Maya: "Ouch! Stop poking my arm, Aarav. It really irritates me."
Aarav: "I’m not poking hard. I’m just drumming like the dhol at Ganesh Chaturthi."
Maya: "Well, your dhol beats on my arm feel like mosquito bites."
Aarav: "But we’re stuck in this long queue for pani puri. I’m bored."
Maya: "Tap your own arm then. Or your leg. Not mine."
Aarav: "If I tap my leg, my slipper might fly off again. Remember last time?"
Amma: "Both of you, stand still, please. The line is moving."
Aarav: "See? It’s not moving fast at all. That irritates me more than anything."
Maya: "The slow line irritates you, and your poking irritates me. Everyone is irritated now."
Aarav: "Hmm. Okay, okay. No more poking. I’ll tap this steel railing instead."
Amma: "Better. Listen to the tap-tap. It sounds like tiny rain on the terrace, no?"
Maya: "Yeah… and I can smell the pani puri now. My irritation is running away."
Aarav: "Mine too. First pani puri is mine though."
Maya: "Deal. As long as you don’t poke me, nothing irritates me anymore."
