The Tower Builders
Milo: "My tower’s tall and twisty, like a dragon made of bricks!"
Tess: "My tower’s short and wobbly, like it’s doing silly tricks."
Milo: "Don’t bump my dragon tower, Tess, or it will crash and fall!"
Tess: "I’m not a bumper, Milo. I’m the best builder of them all!"
Milo: "Hey! You nudged the blanket. Now my dragon’s on the floor!"
Tess: "It just went ‘crash-a-smash-a-splash.’ I want to build some more."
Milo: "It’s not a joke, I’m angry. You’re not funny, Tess, you’re mean."
Tess: "I only tapped the corner. It was just a tiny scene."
Milo: "I feel like I could roar and stomp and never ever smile."
Tess: "But the bricks look like a dragon tail that’s stretching half a mile!"
Milo: "I don’t want dragon giggles. I just want my tower back."
Tess: "Then let’s build a bigger dragon with a super-long red track."
Milo: "My face is scrunched and stormy. See this grumpy, crumpled brow?"
Tess: "If I make a squeaky dragon voice, will you maybe laugh somehow?"
Milo: "No, I will not laugh at— snorf— that squeaky dragon roar."
Tess: "Did I hear a little giggle? I can make it squeak some more!"
Milo: "Stop it, Tess, I’m trying to stay mad and stomp and huff."
Tess: "Then I’ll give the dragon hiccups: ‘Hic! Hic! Hic!’ That’s silly stuff."
Milo: "Pfft— your dragon’s got the hiccups and its tail is on its head."
Tess: "And its wings are on its bottom and it sleeps in socks in bed."
Milo: "Okay, I’m really trying, but my grump is breaking in half."
Tess:laugh." "Let your grump go tumbling, Milo. Let it tumble till you
Milo: "Ha! The dragon did a belly flop and slid across the mat!"
Tess: "Now we’re both just laughing, and I really like it like that."
Milo: "When I laugh, my tummy jiggles and my mad just flies away."
Tess: "Let’s laugh while we build our dragon and be friends for all today."
Milo: "Deal! If towers fall again, we’ll fix them, block by block."
