The Laddoo Mystery
Ananya: "Arjun, did you eat my last laddoo? I was saving it for after homework!"
Arjun: "No! I only took one. Amma saw me take it, remember?"
Ananya: "But I kept it in this steel dabba. Now it’s just… crumbs."
Arjun: "Maybe it rolled away? Laddoos are round. They can escape."
Amma: "What’s all this noise? The neighbors will think we’re having a cricket match inside."
Ananya: "Amma, someone stole my laddoo, and Arjun is acting all innocent."
Arjun: "I’m not acting! I didn’t do it. I want a laddoo too."
Amma: "Hmm. I was in the kitchen the whole time. I saw Arjun take only one laddoo and put the dabba back."
Ananya: "Then who took it? The ghost that also hides my socks?"
Arjun: "Or the lizard on the wall. It looks very suspicious."
Amma: "I also saw Paati walk in and smile at the dabba. She thought no one was looking."
Ananya: "Ohhh. So you actually saw what happened?"
Amma: "Yes. I was right here, making rasam. My eyes were on all of you."
Arjun: "That means Amma is like a witness. She saw the whole laddoo mystery."
Ananya: "Fine. If the witness says you didn’t do it, I believe you."
Arjun: "Good. And I’ll be your witness next time Paati steals your murukku."
Amma: "Then I’ll be the witness who sees both of you sharing the next batch of laddoos."
Ananya: "Deal. Let the witness watch us eat them together."
